TFF to deduct five points from teams that boycott official dressing rooms

The President of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), Wallace Karia, has announced that clubs which refuse to use the designated dressing rooms during league matches in the upcoming season will face a five-point deduction.

The decision comes in response to growing concerns raised by several clubs over the condition and safety of dressing rooms at some stadiums. In recent seasons, a number of teams have alleged that they discovered suspicious and potentially dangerous substances inside dressing rooms before matches, forcing players and officials to avoid using the facilities.

Addressing the issue, Karia made it clear that clubs will no longer be allowed to reject the official dressing rooms assigned to them on matchdays without justification. He stressed that any team found refusing to use the facilities will be sanctioned with an automatic five-point deduction.

To address the safety concerns, the TFF president revealed that the federation will introduce new inspection equipment capable of detecting harmful or suspicious substances inside dressing rooms before teams arrive. The initiative is intended to reassure clubs that the facilities are safe while also preventing disputes over matchday arrangements.

Karia added that the federation will not overlook any attempt to compromise the integrity of the competition. Should investigations determine that a home club is responsible for placing dangerous substances in a dressing room or tampering with the facilities, the offending club will face disciplinary action in accordance with TFF regulations.

The new measures are part of the federation’s efforts to improve safety standards, protect players and match officials, and ensure a fair and professional environment throughout the upcoming Tanzanian football season.
