Egyptian tennis player Safwat Mohamed successfully defended his title at the 12th African Tennis Championships in Dakar. In the singles final, he defeated his compatriot Sabry Shérif in two sets (7/5, 6/2). In the women’s category, Tunisian player Jabeur Ons also retained her title by defeating Egyptian El Kamash Mai (6/3, 6/2). In the doubles final, the Egyptian pair Safwat Mohamed – Sabry Shérif emerged victorious against the Moroccan pair Ziadi Mehdi – Rachid Younes (6/2, 7/5). The team games, involving Senegal, Morocco, Egypt, and Nigeria, were scheduled to conclude the championships. Thirteen countries participated in the event, which ended on Sunday.
