Temesgen Birhanu: Ethiopia winger joins Kidus Giorgis from Hadia Hosaina

Ethiopian right winger Temesgen Birhanu has joined Premier League side Kidus Giorgis from Hadia Hosaina. The 23-year-old has signed a contract with the Addis Ababa club running until 30 June 2028.

Birhanu arrives at Kidus Giorgis after establishing himself in the Ethiopian top flight with Hadia Hosaina, where he operated primarily on the right side of attack. His move keeps him in the same division but represents a step up to one of the country’s most prominent clubs.

Born in Hosaena on 17 November 2002, Birhanu has already built up significant Premier League experience despite his age. He has made 56 appearances in the competition, scoring 11 goals and providing three assists, with his minutes on the pitch totalling 4,496.

His most recent performances have seen his market value rise to €150,000, underlining his growing status in domestic football. Kidus Giorgis have moved to secure him on a long-term deal as they reshape their attacking options ahead of the new campaign.

Capable of stretching defences from the right flank and contributing goals across a season, Birhanu will now compete for a place in the forward line at his new club. The transfer marks his first move away from Hadia Hosaina since breaking through in the Premier League.

Birhanu’s switch to Kidus Giorgis was completed on 15 July 2026, with the winger now under contract until the summer of 2028.
