Tanzanian Premier League side Singida Black Stars have terminated the services of head coach Patrick Aussems and his assistant Dennis Kitambi with immediate effect.
The decision, announced on Monday, November 25, 2024, follows the team’s underwhelming performance in their last three matches.
In a statement obtained by AfricaSoccer.com, the club cited “unconvincing results” as the primary reason for the dismissal, despite substantial support and resources provided by management.
“We would like to inform the stakeholders and fans of our team that the Board of Directors of Singida Black Stars has decided to part ways with coach Patrick Aussems and Dennis Kitambi, effective today,” the statement read.
To ensure continuity, technical director Ramadhani Nsanzurwimo has been appointed interim head coach, with Muhibu Kanu stepping in as his assistant.
The club confirmed that efforts to secure a permanent head coach are already underway.
Aussems, a seasoned Belgian coach, is no stranger to Tanzanian football.
He previously led Simba SC, guiding the team to the Tanzanian Premier League title in the 2018-19 season and the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League.
Despite his impressive start with Simba, Aussems left the club in November 2019. He also managed Kenyan giants AFC Leopards in 2021.
