Tanzanian powerhouse Young Africans FC are on the verge of securing the services of Mauritanian left-back Brahima Keita in the ongoing transfer window.

Keita, who is in the books of Congolese giants TP Mazembe is set to become a free agent as he nears contract expiration.

He is expected to leave TP Mazembe at the end of his contract as he seeks for a new challenge heading into next season.

According to reports, Young Africans currently lead the race for the acquisition of the highly-rated defender.

Keita had previously attracted attention from several African giants, including Esperance de Tunis, currently active in the FIFA Club World Cup, but Young Africans have now emerged as favorites.

With five appearances in the CAF Champions League in the just ended season and one goal for Mazembe, the 23-year-old has demonstrated promise in continental events.

Unless there’s a last-minute twist, the deal is expected to be finalized in the coming days, with Yanga SC aiming to seal it before the Tanzania Cup final.
