Simba SC Clinches Third Mapinduzi Cup Title
Simba SC has emerged victorious in the Mapinduzi Cup, an annual tournament held in Zanzibar to mark the archipelago’s Revolution Day. The Tanzanian giants from Dar es Salaam claimed the title after a dramatic penalty shootout victory over Mtibwa Sugar.
The shootout saw goals from Awadh Juma, Hassan Kessy, Hassan Isihaka, and Dan Sserunkuma for Simba, while Ali Lundenga, Shaabani Nditi, and Ramadhan Kicyuya scored for Mtibwa Sugar.
This marks Simba SC’s third triumph in the Mapinduzi Cup, adding another trophy to their cabinet and reinforcing their dominance in regional football.
The Mapinduzi Cup not only celebrates football excellence but also commemorates the Zanzibar Revolution of January 12, 1964, making this win a significant cultural and sporting achievement for Simba SC.
