Tanzania’s national team, the Taifa Stars, have arrived in Fes, Morocco, ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The squad and officials landed on Friday, following a week-long training camp in Cairo, Egypt, to finalise preparations for the tournament.

This marks Tanzania’s fourth appearance at AFCON in Morocco. The East African side will kick off their campaign against Nigeria’s Super Eagles at the Complexe Sportif de Fès next Tuesday.

The clash will be only the second meeting between the two nations at the AFCON stage, with Nigeria having triumphed 3-1 in their opening game of the 1980 tournament.

Group C also features Tunisia’s Carthage Eagles and Uganda’s Cranes, setting the stage for a competitive group phase.

AFCON 2025 officially kicks off on Sunday, December 21, when host Morocco clash with Comoros.

Before that, there will be an opening concert on Saturday where global superstars Davido, French Montana, and others will thrill fans with exciting musical performances.
