Former Manchester United player Andy Cole was present in Dar es Salaam over the past weekend for the launch of a football development project initiated by Airtel Tanzania called “Mimi ni Bingwa Promotion.”
Speaking at a press conference in Dar es Salaam, Cole shared his commitment to various initiatives aimed at fostering football development in the country. He expressed his involvement in activities such as meeting the Airtel Rising Stars team, demonstrating techniques during training sessions, and engaging with representatives from the Tanzanian Football Federation (FTF) during his second visit to Tanzania.
Having been part of the launch of the Airtel Rising Stars initiative in 2011, Cole expressed his satisfaction with the initiative’s growth, stating that it has become a significant force not only in Tanzania but throughout Africa. The former Man Utd star participated in the “Mimi ni Bingwa” event at Coco Beach in Dar es Salaam, where he urged Manchester United fans to show strong support.
Airtel Tanzania’s Director of Regulatory and Corporate Communications Affairs, Beatrice Singano, encouraged customers to continue participating in the “Mimi ni Bingwa Promotion,” emphasizing the opportunity to win various prizes, including cash and exclusive trips to watch live Manchester United matches at Old Trafford.
Two fortunate winners, Rashid Jacob Kagomola and Dickson Lyatuu, have already secured inclusive tax trips to Old Trafford as part of the promotion. Singano highlighted the ongoing chances for participants to win, reinforcing the message that increased participation multiplies the likelihood of winning.
The upcoming presentation of tickets to the winners was mentioned, and the positive impact of the “Mimi ni Bingwa Promotion” was acknowledged by Jamal Malinzi, the new president of the Tanzanian Football Federation, as reported by Tanzania Daily News.
