OGC manager, Frank Haise, has revealed that France midfielder of Congolese descent, Tanguy Ndombélé, is far from his best.
The midfielder has suffered multiple injury setbacks in the 2024/25 football season. As a result, he has missed many games.
Although he trains with his OGC Nice teammates, he does not have full fitness according to his manager.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of OGC Nice’s match against AS Monaco on Saturday, the coach said Ndombélé needs time to get back to his best.
“He is in training but he is the only one doing so lightly. He is still far from the level that he was at the start of the season but it is a good thing that he is on the field. He worked with the physios today (Friday). It has been for many months that he has trained and worked less. Rhythm doesn’t come just like that,” OGC Nice manager Frank Haise said.
This season, Tanguy Ndombélé has scored one goal and provided two assists after making 20 appearances in the French Ligue 1.
His return to full fitness would be very crucial for the club heading into the final phase of the football season.
