Taher Mohamed Taher among 13 excluded as Al Ahly face Al Mokawloon Al Arab

Al Ahly manager Hussein Ammouta has left 13 players out of his squad for the Egyptian Premier League meeting with Al Mokawloon Al Arab, with Taher Mohamed Taher among the most notable absentees.

The two sides will meet in the fourth round of the Egyptian Premier League at Al-Gabal Al-Akhdar Stadium.

Ammouta excluded all 13 players for technical reasons, with the decision coming after the club’s injured players had recovered. The omissions therefore do not relate to current injuries.

There is, however, a return to the Al Ahly squad for Imam Ashour, who has recovered from his injury and is available again.

Taher Mohamed Taher is the highest-profile name among the players omitted from Ammouta’s plans for the game. The forward’s exclusion is part of a technical selection decision affecting a total of 13 Al Ahly players.

The return of Imam Ashour provides a boost to the squad after his spell on the sidelines. His inclusion comes as Al Ahly prepare for another league fixture against Al Mokawloon Al Arab.

All of the players listed as absent have been left out despite having recovered from injury, according to the report. Ammouta has instead selected his squad based on technical considerations for the fourth-round contest.

Al Ahly will play the match at Al-Gabal Al-Akhdar Stadium, with the meeting forming part of the early Egyptian Premier League schedule.
