Taher Abouzeid has opened up about recent talks linking him with the presidency of Pyramids FC, the new kings of African club football.

The former Egyptian Minister of Sports and Al Ahly legend shared that he recently sat down for a friendly conversation with Pyramids officials, where various ideas about the club’s future were discussed.

Abouzeid, a man deeply rooted in Al Ahly’s legacy, was quick to clarify the informal nature of the meeting.

“I am Ahlawi and have been associated with the club for many years, and it is difficult to take such a step at the moment, especially in light of the strong relationship that I have with the Ahly fans.”

He confirmed that no decisions have been made and that his loyalty to Al Ahly remains firm.

He also reminded fans of his playing days, stating that after leaving Al Ahly, he refused offers from other top Egyptian clubs out of respect for his bond with the Red Devils.

For Abouzeid, sentiment still holds sway over ambition.
