Swedish striker of Eritrean descent, Alexander Isak, has completed his much-anticipated transfer to Liverpool.
The prolific striker has signed for the Reds from fellow English Premier League club Newcastle United.
“Liverpool FC have completed the transfer of Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.
“Isak joins the Premier League champions as their new No.9 on a long-term contract, which he signed on deadline day after successfully passing a medical,” Liverpool announced on Monday, September 1.
After sealing his move, the 25-year-old said, “I feel amazing.”
Isak continued, “It’s been a long journey to get here. But I’m super-happy to be a part of this team, this club and everything it stands for. It’s something I’m proud of and I’m really looking forward to it.
“I’m just happy it’s done and that I can get back to work. I’m looking forward to seeing my teammates and the fans, and getting back out there.”
At Liverpool, Isak will be playing a key role for the side in the 2025/26 football season and beyond.
It is a big step forward in his career and comes with huge expectations.
