Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala delivered a sensational display on Thursday night, stealing the spotlight as Al Hilal battled to a thrilling 3–3 draw with Al Ahli in the Saudi Women’s Premier League.
The Nigerian superstar was at the heart of the action, producing a clinical first-half brace that dragged Al Hilal back into the contest and underlined her importance to the team. With her side under pressure, Oshoala sparked the comeback in the 31st minute, reacting quickest inside the area to slot home from close range and restore belief among her teammates.
Just eleven minutes later, the 31-year-old showed her composure and experience once again. After being brought down in the penalty area, Oshoala confidently stepped up and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way from the spot, completing her brace before the break and swinging the momentum in Al Hilal’s favour.
Her two goals further enhanced an already impressive campaign. Oshoala has now scored eight goals and provided two assists in league action this season, while her overall contribution across all competitions stands at a remarkable 15 goals and three assists.
However, despite her match-winning influence, Al Hilal were unable to secure maximum points as Al Ahli fought back, ensuring the high-octane encounter finished level. The draw keeps Al Hilal in third place on the league standings with 16 points, level with second-placed Al Ittihad but still eight points adrift of runaway leaders Al Nassr.
