Super Falcons claim third consecutive CAF Women’s National Team of the Year award

Nigeria’s Super Falcons have once again cemented their dominance in African women’s football, winning the CAF Women’s National Team of the Year for the third consecutive year, following their triumphs in 2023 and 2024.

This latest accolade marks another milestone in a storied history of success, having previously won the award in 2010, 2014, 2016, and 2018.

The 2025 recognition comes on the back of a remarkable year, highlighted by the Falcons’ record 10th WAFCON title. Nigeria defeated hosts Morocco 3-2 in a thrilling final, showcasing their depth, experience, and unyielding fighting spirit.

Beyond the trophy, the award underscores the team’s sustained growth, resilience, and consistency as women’s football becomes increasingly competitive across the continent.

In the men’s category, Morocco’s U-20 national team, fresh from their historic FIFA U-20 World Cup victory, were voted the CAF National Team of the Year, adding to a memorable night for Moroccan football.
