The Sudanese Football Federation (SFA) has announced the indefinite suspension of the Sudanese Football League.
The decision comes amid ongoing security concerns, nearly a month after the fall of President Omar al-Bashir and the subsequent military takeover, as protests continue to simmer across the country.
The suspension also follows incidents of violence during last week’s match involving El Merreikh, one of Sudan’s leading clubs, where a referee was physically assaulted by players and supporters. The SFA cited these security issues as the primary reason for halting league activities until further notice.
