Sudan outfit Al Hilal will host Al Ahly in the Champions League second leg quarter-finals clash at Martyrs of Benina Stadium in Benghazi following approval from the Libyan Football Federation.
Al Hilal is set for a crunch tie against the Egyptian powerhouse and record holders of the competition in April.
The much-anticipated clash will now be held in Libya on April 8, 2025, instead of Mauritania, which host Al Hilal’s previous Champions League matches.
Al Hilal will travel to Egypt to face Al Ahly at the Cairo International Stadium before the return fixture in Libya.
However, the first vice president of the Sudanese Federation, Osama Atta Al-Mannan Hassan, has heaped praise on the Libyan Federation for granting Al-Hilal’s request.
Meanwhile, the winner of the tie between Al-Ahly and Al-Hilal will face the winner of the match between South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns and Tunisian side Esperance.
