The Malian footballer, Aliou Diang, underwent a successful surgery to remove part of his knee cartilage under the supervision of Austrian expert Christian Fink.
Diang traveled to Austria, where he underwent medical examinations before the surgery.
He is expected to return to Cairo next Friday.
Dr. Ahmed Gaballah, the team doctor, made a phone call to Diang to check on his condition after the surgical procedure and to follow up with the treating physician.
Aliou Diang will undergo a rehabilitation program prepared by the Austrian expert upon his return to Cairo, in preparation for his return to the field.
