French-Congolese striker Arnaud Kalimuendo signs five-year deal with Nottingham Forest

German Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart are set to make an official offer to sign France-born striker of Congolese descent, Arnaud Kalimuendo.

According to reports from Sky, Stuttgart have identified the Nottingham Forest forward as a key target and have already opened discussions with his representatives.

The 23-year-old joined Nottingham Forest from Stade Rennes last summer for around €30 million, but his time in England has not gone as planned, prompting speculation about an early exit.

Stuttgart see Kalimuendo as a strong addition who could increase competition in their forward line and offer depth alongside Deniz Undav and Jamie Leweling. It remains uncertain whether the German club will pursue a loan deal or a permanent transfer.

Sky further reports that Stuttgart intend to strengthen their attacking options as early as possible in the winter window, with Niclas Füllkrug currently ruled out as a potential signing.

A formal move for Arnaud Kalimuendo is expected in the January transfer window.
