Stuttgart consider move for Leipzig midfielder Ezechiel Banzuzi

Ezechiel Banzuzi, the 21-year-old Netherlands and DR Congo midfielder at Leipzig, is being linked with a move to Bundesliga rivals Stuttgart.

Banzuzi joined Leipzig from Belgian side OH Leuven on 1 July 2025 in a deal worth €16m. The central midfielder has a contract with the club until 30 June 2030.

He has made 24 Bundesliga appearances for Leipzig, providing one assist, and has scored twice in four DFB-Pokal matches. Banzuzi has also recorded 55 appearances, four goals and six assists in the Belgian top flight during his career.

The reported interest from Stuttgart would represent a domestic move for a player who has already made the transition from Belgian football to the Bundesliga. His current market value is listed at €16m, matching the fee Leipzig paid to sign him.

Banzuzi began his senior career with NAC Breda before moving to OH Leuven in July 2023. He made 51 appearances in the Dutch second tier and 16 in the Belgian European play-offs before joining Leipzig.

The potential Stuttgart move is currently rated at 14%, with Banzuzi remaining a Leipzig player and under contract for four more seasons.
