Strong start for 2025 AFCON ticket sales as over 130,000 seats snapped up

With less than three months before the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations kicks off in Morocco, excitement across the continent is already soaring.

The tournament’s Organizing Committee confirmed on Wednesday, October 15, that 137,250 tickets have been sold since sales opened just a day earlier, representing almost one-third of the 400,000 seats available in the first release.

This initial phase of ticket sales covers all 52 matches scheduled to take place between December 21 and January 18.

The Organizing Committee also outlined that two additional sales rounds will follow, with the second set to open on October 25 and the final release beginning on November 25 — just three weeks before the tournament’s opening match.

The sales process is being managed through the Yalla application, which also handles the mandatory FAN ID system required for stadium entry.

The platform serves as a central hub for both domestic and international supporters seeking to attend the competition.

According to the latest figures, a total of 211,078 FAN ID applications have already been received, with 170,350 successfully issued.

Notably, 43,865 of these belong to foreign fans from 124 countries, highlighting the broad global appeal of the upcoming tournament.

The FAN ID acts as a key security and identification tool, enabling each holder to purchase only one ticket per match.

This restriction aims to ensure transparency, prevent resale, and enhance crowd management across Morocco’s hosting venues.

Fans are being urged to purchase their tickets exclusively from the official Confederation of African Football (CAF) platform at tickets.cafonline.com to avoid scams or invalid entries.

The Organizing Committee’s statement reflects the mounting anticipation surrounding Africa’s premier sporting event.

Morocco, hosting the AFCON for the first time in over three decades, is already witnessing overwhelming interest as supporters rush to secure seats for what promises to be a festival of African football.

The rapid pace of ticket sales underscores the competition’s widespread popularity, with local and international spectators eager to witness some of the continent’s best teams and talents in action.

As the countdown continues, the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations is shaping up to be one of the most attended and celebrated editions in recent history, with Morocco preparing to welcome fans from across Africa and beyond.
