Strasbourg sign French-Congolese defender Hermann Malonga from PSG Under-19s

French-Congolese centre-back Hermann Malonga has joined Strasbourg from Paris Saint-Germain Under-19s on a free transfer, completing his move to the Ligue 1 club at the age of 18.

Malonga has signed a contract running until 30 June 2031. The defender joined Strasbourg on 12 August 2026 after leaving PSG’s youth side, which competes in France’s National U19 league.

The 1.89m defender arrives after a successful two-season spell with PSG Under-19s. He was part of the team that won the French Under-19 championship in both the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons.

Malonga also helped PSG claim the French Youth Cup in the 2025-26 campaign, giving him three youth honours before his move to Strasbourg. His latest transfer takes him from the youth structure of one Ligue 1 club into the senior set-up of another.

Born in Etampes on 8 January 2008, Malonga is eligible to represent both France and Congo. He has played as a centre-back throughout his recorded development and now joins Strasbourg’s first-team environment as the club adds an 18-year-old defender to its squad.

The move also marks a change in competition for Malonga, who leaves the National U19 division for a club competing in Ligue 1. Strasbourg’s new signing will continue his progression in France after helping PSG’s youth side secure back-to-back national titles.

Malonga’s time at Paris Saint-Germain ended with the French Youth Cup victory and a second consecutive Under-19 championship. He now begins a new chapter at Strasbourg under a contract that keeps him at the club until the end of June 2031.

The completed move sees Hermann Malonga join Strasbourg from Paris Saint-Germain Under-19s as a free transfer.
