Strasbourg show interest in Rennes midfielder Djaoui Cisse

French-Malian midfielder Djaoui Cisse has been linked with a move from Stade Rennais to Ligue 1 rivals Strasbourg.

Cisse, 22, plays as a central midfielder and has a contract with Rennes until 30 June 2030. His current market value is listed at €10m, although there is no indication of a proposed transfer fee or the stage of any discussions between the clubs.

The midfielder joined Rennes’ senior side from the club’s reserve team in July 2024 after progressing through the academy. He has made 40 Ligue 1 appearances for Rennes, scoring once, while also recording eight goals and five assists in 34 National 2 matches.

Cisse was born in Juvisy-sur-Orge and holds French and Malian nationality. He is 1.88 metres tall and prefers his right foot.

The potential move would keep him in France’s top flight, with Strasbourg and Rennes both competing in Ligue 1. Strasbourg’s reported interest comes while Cisse remains under a long-term contract at Rennes, where he is registered as a first-team midfielder.
