Strasbourg lose influential Dutch-Nigerian forward Emmanuel Emegha for Europa Conference League opener

Strasbourg will have to negotiate for points without influential Dutch-Nigerian attacker Emmanuel Emegha in their Europa Conference League clash against Slovan Bratislava.

The enterprising attacker, who is the captain of the French Ligue 1 outfit is currently carrying an injury, ruling him out of the clash against Slovan Bratislava this evening.

Emegha has been ruled out of action until after the October international break, making him also unavailable for Strasbourg’s Ligue 1 game this weekend.

Strasbourg has been hit with a series of injuries as they prepare to get their Conference League campaign underway this evening.

Emegha joins Mamadou Sarr, Maxi Oydele, Sébastien Nanasi and Ben Chilwell on the sidelines for the much-anticipated clash.

In the absence of Emegha, Ismael Doukouré will captain Strasbourg in the game against Slovan Bratislava.

Meanwhile, Emegha is expected to join Chelsea at the end of the current season, having recently signed a long-term contract with the club.
