Steven Mukwala joins Simba SC from Asante Kotoko

Simba SC has officially announced the signing of Ugandan striker Steven Mukwala, who joins the Tanzanian club on a three-year deal from Ghanaian Premier League side Asante Kotoko.

Mukwala, who has made a name for himself in African football, leaves Asante Kotoko after two successful seasons.

His final season with the Ghanaian club saw him net 18 goals and provide two assists in 28 appearances, underscoring his prowess as a formidable striker.

The 24-year-old forward’s transfer to Simba SC comes after a period of negotiations, culminating in the contract’s signing on July 2, 2024.

Standing at 1.76 meters, Mukwala brings with him a wealth of experience from various African leagues.

His professional career began with Edgars Football Club, where he played from 2014 to 2017.

During his time there, he recorded an impressive 53 goals and 37 assists, marking himself as a prolific forward.

After Edgars FC, Mukwala had a brief stint with Chanter FC before moving on to Vipers SC in 2019.

His journey continued with Maroons FC, where he played from 2019 to 2021, followed by a season at Kampala Capital City Authority FC.

In 2022, he joined Asante Kotoko, further establishing his reputation as a key player in the Ghanaian Premier League.

Mukwala’s signing is seen as a significant acquisition for Simba SC, who are looking to strengthen their squad and compete at higher levels.

The Tanzanian club is known for its ambition and competitive spirit, and Mukwala’s addition is expected to enhance their attacking capabilities.
