Steve Mounié underlined his importance to Alanyaspor with another decisive display, scoring twice to help his side secure a convincing 4-0 away win over Boluspor in the Turkish Cup group stage.
The Benin international was the standout performer on the third matchday of the competition, delivering his goals in the second half to turn a controlled performance into an emphatic victory.
His contribution confirmed Alanyaspor’s authority in the group and strengthened their bid for progression.
The opening period of the match was evenly contested, with both sides showing caution and organisation. Alanyaspor were patient in possession, while Boluspor attempted to frustrate their opponents and look for opportunities on the break.
The deadlock was eventually broken shortly after the interval, when Ianis Hagi found the net and then added a second goal to put clear daylight between the two teams.
Boluspor’s task became even more difficult when Erdem Dikbasan was shown a red card, reducing the hosts to ten men and shifting the balance decisively. From that point, Alanyaspor asserted full control, and it was Steve Mounié who delivered the final blows.
The striker demonstrated his physical presence and sharp finishing instincts with two goals in quick succession, scoring in the 60th and 68th minutes.
His movement unsettled the defence, and his composure in front of goal ensured there was no way back for the home side. The double completed a dominant performance and reflected Alanyaspor’s superiority on the night.
Mounié’s impact in the competition has been striking. With six goals in just two appearances, he has moved clear at the top of the Turkish Cup scoring charts.
His form has made him Alanyaspor’s main attacking reference, capable of deciding matches through strength, experience and efficiency.
The performance against Boluspor reinforced his reputation as a constant threat for opposing defences. Time and again, his presence forced errors and created space for teammates, while his goals provided the clinical edge needed to turn control into a comprehensive result.
As the group stage continues, Alanyaspor will take confidence from both the result and the form of their leading striker. For Mounié, the Turkish Cup has become a stage on which he is thriving, combining individual excellence with collective success and positioning himself as one of the tournament’s key figures.
