STEPHEN KESHI: UNHAPPY WITH OBI MIKEL AND MOSES’ PLAYING TIME

Nigeria is among the five nations representing the African continent at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, scheduled from June 12 to July 13.

However, some key players of the Super Eagles are facing significant challenges in terms of playing time at their respective clubs. John Obi Mikel of Chelsea and Victor Moses of Liverpool are notable examples.

This lack of playing time is a source of concern for Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi. Speaking at a round table organized in Lagos by one of the team’s sponsors, Keshi expressed his disappointment: “It’s unfortunate that they’re not getting more playing time at their clubs, but they are still valuable players.” He continued, emphasizing that they are no longer young players who need constant guidance: “I would prefer to see them on the field more often, but it’s a situation beyond my control. Nonetheless, they are currently in good form; I observed Mikel’s sharpness during the friendly match against Mexico.”
