Paris FC coach Stephane Gilli has showered Algerian defender Samir Chergui with praise for his outstanding start to the Ligue 1 season.

Speaking to Le Parisien, Gilli highlighted Chergui’s versatility and commitment, saying, “Samir is the player you can count on anywhere, he always gives his best. He’s a competitor, a real warrior, who steps on the field determined to win his duels and give maximum effort.” Gilli emphasized Chergui’s reliability and unwavering dedication.

Since joining Paris FC in 2022, the 26-year-old has quickly become a locker room leader. Chergui’s ability to play both in central defense and at right back has impressed staff and teammates alike. His disciplined, determined style has contributed to the team’s strong start in France’s top division, fueling their fight to stay in Ligue 1.

Internationally, Chergui continues to progress. Recently called up for the second time by Algeria’s national team, he hopes to secure a regular spot, especially with defenders Ramy Bensebaini and Mohamed Tougaï currently out.
