Stephan El Shaarawy faced another setback in his injury-plagued career. After returning to the Milan group in late November following a series of injuries, the Italian-Egyptian forward underwent surgery on his right foot. The surgery meant he would be sidelined for at least ten weeks, causing him to miss a significant portion of the season, including the first leg of the Champions League last 16 tie against Atletico Madrid scheduled for February 19, 2014.
