Stellenbosch confirm departure of defender Thabo Moloisane amid Kaizer Chiefs links

Stellenbosch FC have announced the departure of defender Thabo Moloisane following the expiration of his contract at the club.

Moloisane will leave the club at the end of the season, bringing an end to a highly influential three-year spell in the Cape Winelands.

The highly-rated defender opted not to renew his contract with Stellenbosch, with both parties agreeing to part ways once his current contract runs out.

His departure marks the end of a significant chapter for a player who developed into one of the most consistent and respected defenders in South African football during his time at Stellenbosch.

Since joining the Maroons from Maritzburg United in 2023, the 27-year-old made an impressive 115 appearances across all competitions, establishing himself as a key figure in the club’s defensive structure. During his spell at the club, Moloisane helped Stellenbosch FC secure the Carling Knockout title, while also playing an important role in the team’s back-to-back runs to the MTN8 finals.
