Former Al Ahly star, Abdel Aal has accused former coach of the club, Marcel Koller, of being responsible for the shocking exits of Percy Tau and other players.
The South Africa star left the Egyptian after falling out out with Koller to join Qatari side, Qatar SC.
However, after failing to defend their CAF Champions League title, Koller has been shown the exit after failing to beat Mamelodi Sundowns.
“His [Koller] departure was deserved. Koller didn’t offer any real football with the team and was a star killer,” Abdel Aal told Sada El Balad in an interview.
“He caused Al Ahly to lose many talented players like Ahmed Kendouci, Reda Slim, Percy Tau, and Dieng. Despite winning 11 titles, he never delivered football that matched Al Ahly’s standards.”
Abdel Aal also spoke about Pyramids FC’s chances of winning the Champions League against Mamelodi Sundowns.
He added: “I expect Pyramids to beat Sundowns if they can secure a positive result in the first leg in South Africa.”
