Ciman on Batshuayi: “Lazy, Personal… But Unquestionably Talented”
Laurent Ciman, defender for Standard de Liège, had candid words about his former teammate Michy Batshuayi. In an interview with La Dernière Heure, Ciman admitted that Batshuayi could be “lazy or personal”, but made it clear that this didn’t take away from the striker’s immense talent.
“He only needed two chances to score a goal. Left foot, right foot—he knew how to make the difference alone in the box.”
Ciman also acknowledged that Standard still hasn’t replaced him:
“We will miss Michy. It’s when people are gone that we realize how important they were.”
Batshuayi joined Olympique de Marseille this season for €7 million, leaving a noticeable gap in Standard’s attacking force.
