Stade Tunisien claimed a hard-fought victory over Club Africain in the highly anticipated Tunis capital derby, securing a 1-0 win on Saturday afternoon in Tunisia Ligue 1’s 10th round of matches.

The decisive goal came just before halftime, courtesy of Bonheur Mugisha, whose clinical finish in the 45th minute earned Stade Tunisien the crucial three points.

This victory propels the team from fourth to second place in the league standings, putting them in a strong position as the season progresses.

Club Africain’s Leadership Under Threat

The defeat dealt a blow to Club Africain, whose 21-point tally now hangs precariously at the top of the league.

With US Monastir, just two points behind, set to face ES Zarzis on Sunday, the table-toppers risk losing their pole position should Monastir secure a win.

Etoile du Sahel’s Winning Streak Continues

Elsewhere, Etoile Sportive du Sahel extended their winning streak to three matches with a commanding 2-0 victory over AS Gabès in Sousse.

Fedi Ben Choug opened the scoring in the 18th minute, while Firas Chaouat doubled the advantage in the 54th minute, sealing another impressive performance for the Sousse-based side.

US Tataouine Ends Losing Run

US Tataouine finally broke their seven-game losing streak with a narrow 1-0 triumph over Olympique de Béja.

Zied Ounelli’s 29th-minute strike proved enough to secure all three points, bringing much-needed relief to the Tataouine faithful.

US Ben Guerdane Secures Away Victory

In Bizerte, US Ben Guerdane edged past CA Bizertin with a 1-0 win, thanks to Nassim Sioud’s 10th-minute goal.

The victory lifts Ben Guerdane out of the relegation zone, moving them into 11th place.

Remaining Fixtures

The 10th round of Ligue 1 continues on Sunday with the following matches:

  • ES Tunis vs. JS Omrane (3:30 p.m. GMT)
  • AS Soliman vs. CS Sfaxien (1:00 p.m. GMT)
  • US Monastir vs. ES Zarzis (1:00 p.m. GMT)
  • ES Métlaoui vs. EGS Gafsa (1:00 p.m. GMT)

The weekend’s results are expected to have significant implications for the standings, particularly at the top, as teams jostle for supremacy in a fiercely competitive league.
