Stade Tunisien lead Ligue 1 table ahead of today’s fixtures
Stade Tunisien remain top of the Tunisian Ligue 1 standings with 11 points after five matches, holding a narrow lead over their closest challengers going into today’s fixtures.
Espérance de Zarzis, who have played one game fewer, sit second with 10 points and retain the chance to overtake the leaders depending on results in their upcoming match.
Club Africain follow closely in third place with nine points from four outings, maintaining pressure at the top of the table.
Defending champions Espérance de Tunis are in fourth position with eight points from five matches, level with ES Métlaoui, who also have eight points from the same number of games.
Both sides remain firmly in the early race for the top spots.
US Monastirienne, JS Omrane and JS Kairouanaise are all locked on seven points after five rounds, with only goal difference separating them in sixth, seventh and eighth places respectively.
The mid-table remains tightly packed, highlighting the competitiveness of this season’s campaign.
Further down, AS Gabés occupy ninth spot with five points from four games, narrowly ahead of three sides – Etoile du Sahel, US Ben Guerdane and CA Bizertin – who also have five points but from five matches each.
Club Sportif Sfaxien, a traditional powerhouse of Tunisian football, find themselves lower than expected in 13th with only four points, though they have played a game fewer than most of their rivals.
AS Marsa and AS Soliman also have four points each but sit behind on goal difference after five matches.
At the bottom of the table, Olympique de Béja remain winless and have collected just two points from their opening five games, leaving them anchored in 16th place.
With only a handful of matches separating the top eight teams, the early stages of the season suggest a highly competitive campaign lies ahead.
While Stade Tunisien currently set the pace, the chasing pack – particularly Espérance de Zarzis and Club Africain – are within striking distance, and the standings could shift quickly as Sunday’s fixtures unfold.
