Belgian Pro League side Club Brugge have completed the acquisition of Franco-Senegalese winger Mamadou Diakhon in the current summer transfer window.

The 19-year-old enterprising winger joins the Belgian outfit on a permanent deal from French Ligue 2 side Stade Reims. He penned a four-year deal, keeping him at the club until summer 2029.

Diakhon joined Reims in 2021, aged 16, beginning his journey in Reims’ youth academy with the U17s. His development through the academy was rapid, earning him a spot in the club’s Pro 2 squad for the 2022/23 season, where he made 25 National 2 appearances.

“Momo, the Stade de Reims thanks you for these beautiful years spent under our colours and wishes you every success in this new challenge. The Centre de Vie Raymond Kopa will remain your home, you will always be welcome.” A statement from Reims reads.

The teenage sensation made his debut for Reims against Lyon in May 2023 and established himself as a key member of the team.

Over the past two seasons, the winger made 51 senior appearances for the Champagne club, registering six goals and two assists. His dynamism and directness on the left flank made him one of Reims’ most promising academy graduates in recent years.

Despite featuring for France at all youth levels, the winger remains eligible to feature for the Senegal national team.
