Stade Malien have secured the 2024–2025 Ligue 1 Pro Orange title, drawing their final fixture 1–1 against ASKO to claim the Malian championship and cap off a strong campaign.
The draw proved enough to place the Bamako-based club at the summit of the standings, clinching the national title in front of a packed home crowd.
The club was officially presented with the league trophy over the weekend, bringing celebrations to a high after a tightly contested season. In addition to the silverware, Stade Malien received a cash prize of 30 million CFA francs for their efforts.
Their consistent form throughout the season ensured they remained favourites in the title race, holding off a determined challenge from city rivals Djoliba AC. The latter, who finished second in the table, were awarded 15 million CFA francs as runners-up.
USFAS, the military-affiliated team, completed the top three and were granted a prize of 10 million CFA francs for their third-place finish. The club showed notable progress this season, managing to secure their spot among Mali’s elite after a competitive league campaign.
As champions, Stade Malien have now earned the right to represent Mali in the CAF Champions League during the 2025–2026 season. It marks another significant opportunity for the club to make its mark on the continental stage, as they aim to translate domestic dominance into African success.
Djoliba AC, who not only finished second in the league but also reached the final of the national cup, will take part in the CAF Confederation Cup. Despite falling short of the domestic double, the club will look to regroup ahead of their continental journey next season.
This year’s championship saw a tightly contested race, with several clubs pushing until the final rounds for top honours. Stade Malien’s balanced mix of youth and experience, combined with tactical discipline, ultimately proved decisive in their successful campaign.
