Didier Ollé-Nicolle is emerging as a strong contender to become the next coach of the Benin national football team, also known as the Écureuils du Bénin. With Manuel Amoros stepping down, Benin’s sports authorities are actively seeking his successor for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
According to reports from bjfoot, Ollé-Nicolle is among the leading candidates on the shortlist for the coaching position. Other names in consideration include former Ghanaian coach Milovan Rajevic and Frenchman Hubert Velud, who currently coaches USM Alger.
While Rajevic initially set high financial demands, Velud’s success with his Algerian club makes his availability uncertain. This leaves Ollé-Nicolle as a viable option, especially since he is already present in the Beninese capital.
Fans of the Benin national team eagerly await the official announcement of the new coach as preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers continue.
