Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, the Minister of Youth and Sports, personally reached out to the national football team currently participating in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.
The minister made a phone call to the team’s delegation to discuss preparations for the upcoming match in the tournament’s Round of 16 against the Democratic Republic of Congo.
During the call, Minister Sobhi, accompanied by the head of the delegation, Khaled El-Darandaly, and Hazem Imam, responsible for the national team, reviewed all the arrangements and preparations for the crucial upcoming match.
The minister also inquired about the players’ conditions and the recent injuries suffered by Mohamed Salah, Mohamed El-Shenawy, and Imam Ashour.
Expressing his keen interest in monitoring the team’s progress, the minister, in coordination with Ambassador Sherif Saif, Egypt’s ambassador to Ivory Coast, emphasized providing full support and ensuring the safety and well-being of the players, administrative staff, and all members of the delegation.
He also discussed logistical matters in coordination with the Egyptian Football Association.
In a message directed to the players, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi conveyed, “We have complete confidence in your abilities, and the next stage marks the beginning of the real journey towards the final.
Give your utmost effort in the upcoming phase of the tournament, advancing step by step towards the championship title, bringing joy to millions of Egyptians.”
The Sports Minister highlighted the ministry’s commitment to offering support and care to various national teams participating in different competitions.
He reiterated the ongoing coordination and collaboration between the ministry and the football association to support all teams, overcome obstacles, and resolve any issues for a successful campaign.
