Sporting monitor Moussa Diaby as Al-Ittihad winger attracts interest
French-Malian winger Moussa Diaby is being linked with a move from Al-Ittihad to Sporting, with the Liga Portugal club named as a potential destination for the 27-year-old.
Diaby is under contract with the Saudi Pro League side until 30 June 2029, meaning any move would involve negotiations over a transfer fee rather than a free transfer. He joined Al-Ittihad from Aston Villa in July 2024 in a deal worth €60m.
The right winger has featured twice for Al-Ittihad at the start of the 2026-27 campaign, making one Saudi Pro League appearance and starting in the AFC Champions League Elite qualifying round. He provided two assists in the continental fixture.
Diaby began his senior career at Paris St-Germain before moving to Bayer Leverkusen in 2019. He subsequently spent the 2023-24 season at Aston Villa before switching to Al-Ittihad.
He has won the Saudi Pro League and Saudi Cup with Al-Ittihad, having previously been part of the Paris St-Germain squad that claimed the French league and French Super Cup. At international level, Diaby was part of France’s 2021 Nations League-winning side.
The reported interest from Sporting comes while Diaby remains an Al-Ittihad player and has continued to feature at the beginning of the new season.
