Sporting linked with €28m-rated Werder Bremen defender Karim Coulibaly
German-Ivorian centre-back Karim Coulibaly is the subject of reported interest from Sporting, with the 19-year-old currently contracted to Bundesliga club Werder Bremen.
Coulibaly has made 27 Bundesliga appearances for Werder and scored once since joining the senior side from the club’s under-19 team in July 2025. His listed market value is €28m, while his contract runs until 30 June 2029.
The defender was part of Werder’s under-19 side that won the German Under-19 cup in the 2024-25 season, before progressing to the first team. He was born in Oldenburg and holds German and Ivorian nationality.
Sporting, who compete in Portugal’s Liga Portugal, have been linked with a move for Coulibaly as the player continues his development in Germany. The reported likelihood of the transfer is currently assessed at 49%, and there has been no confirmation that an agreement has been reached between the clubs or with the player.
Coulibaly’s senior career at Werder began after he joined the club’s academy from Hamburg’s under-19 side in July 2024. He subsequently moved into the first-team squad in the following season.
The defender remains a Werder Bremen player, with more than two years left on his current contract.
