Spanish side Sevilla make enquiry about Ghana midfielder Kwasi Sibo

Ghanaian midfielder Kwasi Sibo is a major target for Spanish outfit Sevilla in the ongoing summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old midfielder has popped up on the radar of a hosts of clubs in Europe after exhibiting a top-class performance for Real Oviedo last season.

Sibo performed admirably in the 2024/25 campaign, contributing significantly towards Real Oviedo’s promotion to the Spanish La Liga after 24-years.

The bulky defensive midfielder joined Real Oviedo in July 2024 on a two-year deal and became an instant hit, making 42 appearances across competitions, scoring a goal and delivering an assists in the process.

Sevilla Sporting Director, Antonio Cordón is a huge admirer of the Ghanaian midfielder and is keen about capturing his signature.

Sibo operates as a pivot in front of the defense and is familiar to Antonio Cordón from his time at Betis, where Sibo played in the reserves.

Having already contacted Oviedo, Sevilla is expected to push for Sibo’s signing in an attempt to fill the void left following the departure of Albert Sambi Lokonga and Saúl Ñíguez.

The in-demand Ghanaian midfielder’s transfer fee might exceed a million euros.

Meanwhile, Real Oviedo will be counting on the 27-year-old midfielder in the upcoming La Liga campaign as they seeks to maintain their status in the top-flight.
