Spanish outfit Villarreal eyes loan move for Franco-Congolese defender Axel Disasi
Spanish outfit Villarreal have set their sights on securing the services of France international of Congolese descent Alex Disasi in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old centre-back, who plies his trade for Premier League giants Chelsea has emerged as a priority target for Villarreal as the club are execute an aggressive recruitment effort this summer in an attempt to make a meaningful impact in the upcoming 2025/26.
However, Disasi, who has struggled for playing time at Chelsea has popped up on the radar of Villarreal, having been declared surplus to requirements under manager Enzo Maresca at Stamford Bridge.
The Spanish outfit is the latest club to show an interest in signing the French-Congolese and are expected to submit a loan bid for the Chelsea centre-back.
Villarreal faces a tough test in the acquisition of Disasi on loan as Chelsea demand full transfer of the player this summer.
Meanwhile, Neom SC are reportedly in advanced talks with Chelsea owners BlueCo to sign Disasi.
The 27-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa. The Birmingham outfit decided at the end of his loan to not make the Chelsea defender’s stay at Villa Park a permanent one.
