Head coach of Barcelona Hansi Flick has declared Spanish-Moroccan teenager fit for the crucial Champions League quarterfinal return clash against Newcastle United.

Yamal made substitute appearance as Barcelona cruised to a resounding 5-2 victory over Sevilla in the La Liga at the weekend.

Ahead of the Newcastle United showdown, Flick has allayed Yamal’s injury fears, offering reassurance to fans ahead of the high-stakes encounter.

“Lamine Yamal is ready. Yesterday he had a fantastic training session. He’s capable of changing the course of a match,” Flick said.

“The Champions League is the best tournament in the world, and everyone wants to be part of it. That’s extra motivation for every player,” he added.

Yamal has been in sensational form this season, featuring in 38 matches, scoring 20 goals, and providing 15 assists, remarkable numbers that underline his importance to Barcelona’s attacking setup despite his young age.

The tie remains finely balanced following a 1-1 draw in the first leg, where Harvey Barnes opened the scoring for Newcastle before Yamal found the equalizer. With everything to play for, all eyes will now be on whether the young star can once again rise to the occasion and inspire Barcelona to victory.
