FC Barcelona’s march at the summit of LALIGA has been powered by many factors this season, but none has shone brighter in recent weeks than Spanish-Moroccan prodigy Lamine Yamal.
The teenage forward, already regarded as one of Europe’s most gifted young attackers, has elevated his game at a decisive moment of the campaign, combining creativity with a newly developed scoring instinct that is propelling Barcelona’s title ambitions.
At just 18, Yamal has been influential throughout the season, but his recent purple patch in front of goal has significantly strengthened Barcelona’s push for domestic and continental honours.
The winger has scored 15 goals across all competitions this season, with five of those strikes arriving in his last five matches, highlighting a dramatic rise in his finishing ability and confidence in attacking situations.
Clinical finishing fuelling Barcelona’s momentum
Yamal’s most recent contribution came in Barcelona’s convincing 3-0 victory over RCD Mallorca in Matchday 23, where he showcased composure beyond his years with a superb long-range effort.
That strike added to a sequence of goals against Albacete Balompié, Elche CF, FC Copenhagen and Real Oviedo, underlining his consistency across multiple competitions.
Even when he failed to find the net during Barcelona’s narrow 2-1 defeat to Real Sociedad, Yamal remained pivotal, providing an assist to extend his influence on the team’s attacking output.
Prior to that, he had scored against Real Racing Club, ensuring he has recorded a direct goal involvement in each of his last seven matches. This sustained productivity reflects a player who is no longer simply a promising talent but a decisive performer capable of delivering under pressure.
Evolution from creator to complete attacker
While Yamal initially gained recognition for his exceptional vision and ability to create opportunities, his development into a prolific goal threat has added another dimension to his game.
Over his Barcelona career, he has registered 47 assists compared to 40 goals, demonstrating his natural inclination to provide for teammates. However, that statistical gap is rapidly narrowing as he becomes more assertive in front of goal.
With 10 league goals already, the 2025/26 campaign marks Yamal’s most productive LALIGA EA SPORTS season. His previous best tally in Spain’s top flight stood at nine goals, but his current run of five consecutive league matches with a goal has pushed him into new territory and emphasised his rapid growth as a finisher.
Dribbling brilliance remains unmatched
Beyond goals and assists, Yamal continues to terrorise defenders with his extraordinary dribbling ability. During the Mallorca encounter, he surpassed 100 successful dribbles in league play this season, becoming the first player across Europe’s top five leagues to reach that milestone.
The next closest challenger, Manchester City winger Jérémy Doku, trails significantly with 62 successful dribbles, highlighting the Barcelona youngster’s exceptional technical superiority.
A driving force in Barcelona’s trophy ambitions
Barcelona have already secured the Spanish Super Cup and remain firmly in contention for LALIGA EA SPORTS, the Copa del Rey and the UEFA Champions League.
At this crucial juncture, Yamal’s form is providing the Catalan giants with a significant competitive edge. If the teenage sensation maintains his scoring surge while continuing to orchestrate attacks with his creativity and flair, Barcelona’s prospects of adding further silverware appear increasingly strong as the season enters its decisive phase.
