Spanish media outlets have voiced criticism over the performance decline of Moroccan international Salim Amallah, a player for the Spanish football club Valencia, following his return from the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Spanish newspaper “El Desmarque” highlighted that “Amallah returned from the Africa Cup of Nations worse off than he was at Valencia before heading to Ivory Coast.”
The publication emphasized that the Moroccan player did not meet expectations during the match against Las Palmas, which Valencia lost 2-0 last Saturday in the 24th round of La Liga.
The same source continued: “Amallah was not successful in his decision-making during the first half against Las Palmas, indicating that his participation with Valencia after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations was not beneficial.”
The newspaper pointed out that Valencia’s coach made a mistake in fielding Amallah against Las Palmas, adding that “the Bats’ captain was forced to substitute the Moroccan player in the 65th minute.”
It is worth mentioning that Salim Amallah joined Valencia last summer on a one-season loan with an option to buy from Real Valladolid.
