Spanish journalist slams Lamine Yamal over lifestyle and form
Spanish journalist Pipi Estrada has launched a harsh attack on Lamine Yamal, claiming he has fallen out of love with the Barcelona teenager because of his behaviour on and off the pitch.
Yamal has been in the spotlight for his reported relationships with older women and a so‑called Playboy lifestyle, which Estrada believes has affected both his image and his performances.
“I’ve fallen out of love with Lamine. I was in love with him, but now I don’t even like the way he walks around the countryside,” Estrada says, adding that he now sees the winger as less passionate and no longer the dazzling talent he once was.
He argues that opponents have studied Yamal closely, “got his number,” and that the youngster can no longer get past defenders as he used to.
Estrada also criticizes the attitude of Yamal’s father in the stands and warns that, unless things change, “at 22, he won’t be at Barca anymore.”
The comments have sparked debate in Spain about how the 18-year-old is handling early fame and scrutiny
