Spanish forward of Ghanaian descent, Nico Williams, is reportedly open to a move to Bayern Munich.
The forward is a transfer target of the German Bundesliga champions as the club pushes to recruit new talent to augment its squad.
While Bayern are currently targeting Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola for the left-wing position, the French club’s high valuation has prompted the Bundesliga side to explore the possibility of signing Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao instead.
It is understood that Bayern have accelerated discussions surrounding the 22-year-old in recent days. The club is said to have held meetings to assess the feasibility of a deal.
Williams is said to be intrigued by the idea of a move to Munich and is open to the opportunity.
One key advantage in Bayern’s pursuit is Williams’ release clause, which is set at approximately €60 million.
However, the Spanish winger’s salary demands pose a potential obstacle, with his current net earnings in Bilbao reported to be between €7 and €8 million per year.
Bayern must now find a way to meet the demands of the youngster to make the deal happen.
