Spanish-born forward Marouane Sanadi has officially begun the process of acquiring a Moroccan sports passport, signalling his intent to represent the Atlas Lions at the international level.
The move follows a productive meeting with national team head coach Walid Regragui, who is keen to integrate the Athletic Bilbao forward into his squad.
Sanadi, who joined the Basque club earlier this season, has made an immediate impact, cementing his place in Ernesto Valverde’s starting lineup in La Liga.
He is expected to feature in Morocco’s upcoming friendlies against Tunisia and Benin in Rabat, alongside fellow La Liga talent Younes Abdellaoui of Celta Vigo.
According to reports, Regragui met with Sanadi during a recent visit to Spain, during which the coach praised the player’s abilities and expressed strong interest in including him in future national team plans.
