Spalletti tells Juventus fans to make the Allianz Stadium their fortress

Luciano Spalletti has called on Juventus supporters to stand behind the team and help restore the Allianz Stadium as a place of strength, rather than allowing the growing tension around the club to become an obstacle.

The Juventus manager made the appeal after his side beat Napoli 2-0 on Sunday, ending a difficult period marked by poor results and increasing hostility in the stands. Juventus had been under intense pressure following a humiliating 2-0 defeat by relegation-threatened Genoa, while supporters protested outside the Allianz Stadium before directing abuse at the players from the opening whistle.

The atmosphere remained strained during the match, but Juventus eventually secured a decisive victory. Juan Cabal struck the post early on, while Guglielmo Vicario produced an excellent save to deny Lorenzo Lucca.

The key moment came when Napoli midfielder Luca Marianucci was shown a second yellow card, leaving the visitors to play the rest of the match with 10 men. Juventus made full use of their numerical advantage, with long-range efforts from Karim Alajbegovic and Jeremie Boga settling the contest.

The final whistle prompted emotional scenes on the touchline, as Spalletti warmly embraced members of his coaching staff.

Speaking to DAZN Italia after the match, in comments reported by Goal, Spalletti praised his players and staff.

“They suffer like I do and work from morning until evening,” he said. “I am the first to arrive and the last to leave, but they are usually with me most of the time. However, the credit against Napoli belongs to the team.”

He added: “They managed to gather their strength and find the desire to take the first step, move forward and think positively. They did that in the second half after some adjustments. I believe they thoroughly deserved the victory, which restored some of their confidence in the football they play.”

Spalletti acknowledged that Juventus’ recent decline had affected the players psychologically, saying a lack of confidence can spread throughout a struggling squad.

“All we can do is stand beside them, but there are players who genuinely slide into this spiral and lose confidence in everything they do, even the simplest things,” he said.

“When a simple pass goes wrong or there is hesitation over a decision, which is worse than making the wrong decision, that lack of confidence spreads to the rest of the team.”

Spalletti said Juventus must use the win as a foundation to rebuild their season and repair their damaged relationship with supporters. With the squad short of numbers, he warned that a hostile stadium would make future progress more difficult.

“We just have to keep moving forward,” he said. “This is a moment we must deal with, and afterwards you can say whatever you want. Now we need to stay together, alongside a stadium that shows its true face in the second half and fights with the team.”

“You can say Spalletti is not good, this player is not good, get rid of everyone. But now we need to be united, and this stadium must become our fortress again.”

Though admitting the team had not fully pleased the supporters, Spalletti thanked those who applauded and urged everyone to remain positive.

“It was a deserved victory for the players, who deserve warm applause,” he said.
