Valencia Part Ways with Coach Juan Antonio Pizzi Following Club Takeover
Valencia CF have announced the departure of head coach Juan Antonio Pizzi as the club prepares for a new era under the ownership of Singaporean billionaire Peter Lim.
In an official statement, the Spanish side confirmed the decision was made to ensure the long-term success of its sporting project. “In order to ensure the stability of its future sporting project, the club’s Board of Directors has decided to dispense with the services of coach Juan Antonio Pizzi,” the statement read. “Valencia CF wishes the best to Pizzi and his technical staff, who have worked with professionalism and commitment for the club.”
Pizzi, who took charge of the team midway through last season, guided Valencia to the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League, where they were narrowly eliminated by eventual winners Sevilla FC. Despite that strong European run, inconsistent domestic results contributed to the board’s decision to seek new leadership.
The move marks the beginning of a fresh chapter for the club, as new owner Peter Lim looks to reshape Valencia’s future on and off the pitch.
