Spain name four new faces for Nations League campaign from Ceuta

Spain manager Luis de la Fuente has included four new players in his squad for the 2026-27 UEFA Nations League, announcing his World Cup-winning selection from Ceuta.

Inter goalkeeper Josep Martinez, Espanyol forward Roberto Fernandez, Real Madrid defender Dean Huijsen and Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez have all been added to the squad of world champions.

Spain will face England and Croatia twice each, as well as the Czech Republic, during the group stage.

De la Fuente unveiled the squad alongside a group of children in Ceuta, a city at the centre of a territorial dispute between Morocco and Spain.

Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia misses the September squad through injury, while Gavi and Borja Iglesias have also been left out.

Spain begin their Nations League campaign against England at Wembley on 26 September.

The world champions then host Croatia at Seville’s Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on 29 September.

Their third fixture comes against the Czech Republic in Oviedo on 3 October, before they return to face Croatia in Split on 6 October, bringing the next international break to a close.
